Golden at Gaudet Bros.
I am a lucky girl. NOLAFW S/S ‘13 kicks off in 9 days and I am surrounded by a team that owns this project on the same level that I do. They love fashion, the designers we work with, exude New Orleans charm and basically rock it out through and through.
And to further the luck, in NOLA, last year Lisa Iacono came to town. She established NOLA Sewn, a garment factory catering to independent designers which I’ve raved (and raved) about before here. Her eponymous line celebrates it’s first birthday this month and is a personal extension of Lisa herself. All handmade in New Orleans, the clothes are luxury, fabric-driven statement pieces. See her Holiday and Spring/Summer collection on Thursday October 18th on the runway at the Saratoga.
Like Lisa’s beautiful clothing - Gaudet Bros (the bf’s salon and barber shop in the Garden District in Baton Rouge) fully reflects the proprietor’s personality.
And here’s a secret - spending time with both, I am fully inspired to dive deep into my own artistic side and create something as golden. Stay tuned.
Blouse and Trousers (Iacono), Tassled Loafer-inspired “Emmy” Pump (Plenty by Tracy Reese, UAL), Eyewear (My usual suspect Ray-Ban Wayfarers), Necklace (Lauren’s, the accessory queen).
